Is this game ever coming out?

Yes, sorry y'all LMAO. 

I pushed myself too hard during the jam last year and overscoped severely. I got burnt out on the project for ages, and then had some real life events that made things harder on me. BUT, we're aiming to release this by August 31st at the latest!

Instead of continuing to solo-dev this project, I got some super cool friends to help me get my shit together and finish this project!

Okay, so what can I expect with the full release?

Hopefully all good things!

The most noteable things though, are listed below (minus the spoilers) 

Leilani is no longer a love interest

Why? A number of reasons. 1) I severely overscoped. Robin was also going to be one,  but also got cut before we reached the sprite phase due to scope. and 2) I wasn't vibing with  her character enough to make her story work. I just  couldn't seem to make anything work for her story's ending that didn't feel forced. I'm personally not fond of just pushing through, because when somethings forced I feel like its obvious that there wasn't enough effort/care put into it, and that's not something I want for my project. 

There is no longer a platonic route.

I'm sorry about this one y'all, this was something I wanted to make work initially, but due to scope, its not something I'm going to be able to include, but don't worry because I do have another project releasing soon with a platonic ending! I know it's not the same, but things just didn't work out for this one.

More choices!

Okay, that one seems obvious considering its just longer story, but I  promise it's more than that. You will have more input and choices on what you say, affecting more of the dialogue to make the story feel more immersive. This includes more scams you can fall for!

The Computer is more interactable than before

So obviously RenPy is a bitlimited if you don't know what'sgoing on. Obviously, I had no idea how to use it, this demo was my first ever released project, so I had to go in and fix some things, and update others. 

As of right now, your profile picture is now updatable, you can change your name color, the mp3 player is now moveable AND minimizable now. Unfortunately, when you open the mp3 player back up on screen, it doesn't retain its location. This isn't something I can fix at the moment currently, and there is a issue opened for it on the renpy github (https://github.com/renpy/renpy/issues/5327)

There is also a quiz added into the game about which Debt Collector's character is your husbando/waifu style. This will be how route selection is chosen and there will be a guide made ready for you guys before the games full release!

More music tracks!

I did a mini update in January I believe with some additional music from a friend, but now we have even more tracks coming from some other composers in the community!

Partial Voice Acting!

We have some virtual date night events within the full release, and all of those scenes will ideally be fully voiced! The rest of the game will remain unvoiced. I'll be posting a casting call on my Twitter within the next week or so, so please go keep an eye out there if you're interested!

Where are you at right now with the project?

Currently, thanks to the help of NUMEROUS other devs practically holding my hand to allow me to think, we have the entire rest of the story planned out in order now. Previously it was a super vague plan, and some scenes were out of order. I was struggling to find a layout and way to organize things that worked for me. Previously I was using notion, but it didn't have the functionality I needed. 

As of today, June 16th, we just wrapped up the planning of the final story, and are starting the writing of the rest of the missing scenes. We are also setting up a casting call for Voice Actors and updating all old assets to fit thecurrent style of the game. 

We're aiming for a release at the end of the summer, but will likely not need that much time to finish it given the current state of the project!

tldr: the games still coming, and should be out in a few months!
